There will be a small respite from the intensity of the pre-election climate next Easter.
The prime minister will be in Tinos and Alexis Tsipras in Corfu.
In his hometown of Heraklion, Nikos Androulakis will spend the Resurrection, in Lamia and in the wider area of Fthiotida, Dimitris Koutsoumbas.
Kyriakos Velopoulos is already in Thessaloniki and Yanis Varoufakis will receive the resurrection light at his home in Aegina.
Far from Athens, political leaders are expected to make their plans for the final stretch of the election by phone or through some limited teleconferences.
Short breaks do not mean “turning off the engines”.
In any case, the staffs will remain behind in Athens to coordinate the tours of the parliamentarians, the executives and above all to edit the announcements that will not stop coming out during the holidays.
Already the phones in the press offices of the parties have caught fire from the television stations that are “checking” their guests for the official pre-election period that will start soon.
It is recalled that the restriction of appearances starts the day after the dissolution of the Parliament, which will take place on Saturday, April 22.
According to what was in force in 2019, one appearance of parliamentary candidates is allowed on each nationwide channel and two on local ones. The time until the elections is already counting down. Even the polls that will see the light of day after Easter will have a different weight and will lead the parties to readjust their strategies.
The passing of the amendment for the “block” in the formation of Ilias Kasidiaris made it clear that the environment in which the country will be led to the elections will be explosive.
New Democracy and SYRIZA they failed to find common ground on a very important issue which will have several sequels.
The decision of the section of the Supreme Court on the descent or not of the “Greeks” in the elections will be taken on May 5 and is expected to ignite new tensions.
The conflict is expected to flare up from Easter Monday onwards for the debate. Everything indicates that a telephone battle will be held between the six political leaders.
The government states that it is open to a dialogue with conditions and rules, while SYRIZA wants at least a televised showdown between the two contenders for power.
The landscape will unravel when the first contacts between the representatives of the parties take place.
Until then and because of Easter, economy, punctuality and the festive table will be at the top of the agenda for all political forces.
