Notice against him SYRIZA for the leaking of the name of the woman who made the complaint against MEP Alexis Georgoulis, PASOK issued.
“The case for which the immunity of the SYRIZA MEP – P.S. was requested, Alexis Georgoulis, concerns serious criminal offenses and as such must be dealt with primarily by the person controlled by justice. No one else has given political ramifications except himself,” the PASOK announcement initially points out and continues:
“The request to lift the immunity of Mr. Georgoulis is the product of an investigation by the Belgian authorities following a complaint made in 2020.
The procedures followed by the Belgian authorities are within their own competence and are not “dictated” by third parties, as some so-called libertarians imply.
But there is indeed a political dimension, which we point out: It is a shame that SYRIZA officials, who otherwise declare themselves to be defenders of human rights, leak names without respecting the criminal preliminary proceedings.
In conclusion he states: “Even in this tragic event, their small party interest has a higher value. All are required to show the same discretion and seriousness with which the victim has for so long handled the case while strictly observing the secrecy of the proceedings”.
