The Press Representative of PASOK-Movement for Change was a guest on SKAI’s “Today” show today, Dimitris Manzos.

The discussion revolved around the burning issue of the case of MEP Alexis Georgoulis, with D. Manzos reminding that “it is a very serious criminal case which we have never politicized. We, when there are legal issues in all cases and in all time periods, manage them with due parsimony, caution, and institutionality” explaining:

“Some, the accused, officials of SYRIZA, supposedly defenders of human rights who are cut for the rule of law, chose the path of cannibalism. Three years now, there is a woman who has chosen absolutely institutionally to make her own personal fight for justice in justice, in the name of herself and of all women who have received similar abusive behavior.

However, we have a very specific attempt at political instrumentalization, with the leak of the name, status and photo, and even an attempt to degrade the acts.”

“And what didn’t we hear? We have heard – even from journalists – that it is an anonymous complaint, while it is proven from the file that the complaint has been named since the first days after the incident. We even heard that the Belgian judiciary is waiting to see when the Greeks will hold elections in order to send the request to the European Parliament. That is, that the process of investigating and documenting the case is not three years long. And I wonder, is Belgian justice bad now? They used to say to SYRIZA that they were jealous of her”, emphasized the Press Spokesperson of PASOK-Movement for Change, while he called it “obvious that SYRIZA tried to use the case as a tool to show that there is allegedly an attack against him at a suspicious time, before the elections” .

Finally, addressing the SYRIZA member of parliament, Christos Spirtzis, he invited him to read what has been written on social media in the last few hours. “Get on Twitter and be ashamed on behalf of SYRIZA. And think, in fact, what would have happened if Mr. Georgoulis had been a member of the European Parliament of the PASOK-Movement for Change.

You are the party which, some time ago, was almost talking about collective criminal responsibility of our faction in the Kaili case. It is SYRIZA that was pointing the finger and telling us “why didn’t you expel Ms. Kaili”, when you all say that you knew the rumors and the surrounding atmosphere, you made the inspectors and now, after Mr. Georgoulis resigned, you are dismissing him. No more hypocrisy!”
