“When two days ago we publicly raised the question of whether the Mitsotakis government gave permission to export the Predator to Sudan, the government representative replied that we were invoking conspiracy theories,” says SYRIZA-PS in a statement.

“Today that Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Varvitsiotis has confirmed the export of the Predator to Sudan, the Mitsotakis government has two options: Either it will take out a conspirator and Mr. Varvitsiotis or Mr. Economou will admit that he lied,” he underlines, adding that “Half-arguments that the Predator was exported to Sudan, but this has nothing to do with the exploitation of the malware by the RSF militia, do not convince anyone.”

“Today’s admission by Varvitsiotis also confirms that the Mitsotakis government is keeping secret the conclusion of the relevant EDE in order to protect Mr. Smyrlis who gave the export permit”, emphasizes SYRIZA-PS and continues:

“Ultimately, Mr. Mitsotakis was not content only to monitor half of the political system, journalists and the leadership of the army. He reached the point of turning the country into a business springboard for the export of such a dangerous technology and indirectly involving Greece in a civil war with hundreds of dead and with Greeks among the trapped”.

“Really, what else has to happen for the Supreme Court Prosecutor to intervene?”, concludes the SYRIZA statement.
