The Minister of State and Government Spokesman, Akis Skertsos, comments today on the announcements of Alexis Tsipras regarding the utilization of the private sector and private doctors in the island regions when there is a need.

Mr. Tsipras still says one thing and does another. Obviously it doesn’t surprise us. Yesterday from Kos – and today in his television interview – he announced the utilization of the private sector and private doctors in the island regions when there is a need. Let us remind him that the specific measures have been passed by the government with article 56 of law 4931/2022 “Strengthening of public health structures by private providers and private doctors in emergencies” and article 7 of law 4999/2022 “Promotion of doctor positions branch of the National Health System with part-time status”.

At the time, SYRIZA did not support this arrangement in Parliament and had accused the government of privatizing health. He now comes to propose what he fought for. We don’t think he has any regrets, he just keeps doing what he knows well, making fun of the citizens.

One more thing. We did not hear Mr. Tsipras say anything about immigration in Kos, which had been severely tested by immigration flows and the incoherent policy – “the sea has no borders” – of SYRIZA-ANEL. Perhaps because our own government has solved the problem and the comparison is a catalyst.

As for the answer regarding the “Demitra” plan of the possible government partner of G. Varoufakis, it was probably something like “strivein via Berlin”. A simple “no thanks” would be more direct and effective. But we didn’t hear it.
