The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court gave answers to all the “hot” cases that concern the justice system recently, Isidoros Dogiakos, from the stage of the 8th Delphi Economic Forum which takes place in Delphi April 26 – 29 and is under the auspices of A.E. of the President of the Republic, Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

“The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court cannot be led, carried or pressured. The opinion of the prosecutor of the Supreme Court is an inalienable right. Alas if he had limitations of expression” said Mr. Dogiakos, when asked about the criticism he has received both for his opinion on with the wiretapping case as well as for the resignation of the prosecutor Tzanerikos. “If Mr. Tzanerikos believed that someone wronged him, he would come and tell me to do something. That’s what I would do” pointed out features.

During a very interesting discussion with the journalist of the Kathimerini newspaper, Ioanna Mandrou, Mr. Dogiakos characterized the Golden Dawn case as “unprecedented in the annals of the homeland”, subsequently commenting on his statement Ilias Kasidiaris how will he fare in the elections with the “Hellenes” party. “Elections are a celebration of Democracy. One must have a political culture to be guided by decisions. He must calmly and maturely think about what his decision will be. It will be associated with an extreme or unpleasant event. Golden Dawn is charged with one murder. Could a party charged with murder be represented in Parliament?” said the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court meaningfully and added that “a party charged with a murder I don’t think he will be able to properly represent any group of Greek citizens in the Parliament”.

Regarding the wiretapping case, he emphasized that he consulted his “wise” predecessors as well as current colleagues regarding the legality of the opinion, saying that there was no difference between his opinion and the new EYP operating law, but only who would have the final control by ADAE or EYP. He added that the investigations into the surveillance are at an advanced research stage. Referring to tempe disaster, revealed that the case is with a special appellate investigator, it is moving very quickly and it will not be long before there are developments.

Mr. Doiakios also spoke about the difference in mentality between a politician and a prosecutor, stressing that many politicians have an opinion that they stubbornly stick to. “What worries me the most is that many times or sometimes they also encourage citizens to disrespect court decisions” he added, speaking of political expediency, that as soon as the interest runs out, the case goes aside. “The Judge does not step on the floor, which the whole world steps on. He is on the throne and stands between God and men” commented the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, characterizing the problem of Justice as multifactorial and estimating that the recently foreseen evaluation will improve the performance of judicial officials. Finally answering the question of what he will do after the end of June when he retires, he said that he is ready as a common mortal to submit to the forces of the pandamator of time.
