D. Koutsoubas noted that “even in the second elections, if they are held, there will be independence. This is our estimate. We will go to cooperative governments again, so this inconvenience is a “no brainer”.
The head of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas, in his interview this evening with “Alpha” when asked about the pending decision of the Supreme Court on the “Kassidiari party” (the interview was given before the decision was announced) said that mistakes were made with the responsibility of all previous governments, referring, in principle, to both the delay in starting the Golden Dawn trial and the delays in the hearing process.
“The fact that the decision at the Court of Appeal has not yet been finalized is a very serious problem and we have reached the point of having this legislative regulation in parliament which does not actually solve the problem, because here we are talking about a big issue, because it is a matter to which the Greek people must answer, the political system itself must answer and we should not reach the “par five” of making legislative arrangements”.
“The Supreme Court is now called, based on the legislative regulation, to judge this case. We in the Parliament did not vote for this arrangement precisely because we consider it to have unacceptable dangerous generalizations, not for today but for tomorrow, for anyone else who will come to a march and may raise issues. It is one thing to educate our people against fascism, against Nazism, against the criminal acts of this ideology and this formation that appeared as Golden Dawn, or with its various other offshoots subsequently and a different thing now appears from the Media Information – some media – and as an anti-systemic force but also by political forces” he noted.
“The day before yesterday I heard another political leader saying that it is the expression of the anger of the people, the youth and so on. But this is not the case. The Golden Dawn, the Nazis, the criminals, Kasidiaris, are natives of the system, they are distributed as it suits them, as the system suits them, to some special interests and then they gather them again,” he stressed.
Asked about the pre-election “benefits competition between the two major parties” and the issue of the minimum wage, he said that “the workers and the Greek people now have experience that we should keep a small basket for pre-election announcements, because even these announcements of the prime minister but also Mr. Tsipras are talking about if we reach the investment stage, if the economy is strong enough, if the prerequisites of the Recovery Fund are convenient for us and so on and we have the approval, for 2027 they are talking that the salary can go up.”
“We are saying very simply the following: here and now to reinstate the National General Collective Agreement, which has been abolished in essence, and starting with the minimum wage at 850 euros but with the simultaneous reinstatement of the three-year period” underlined D. Koutsoubas.
He noted, among other things, “that there should be a clause to adjust salaries based on inflation as well, along with a series of other measures such as the reinstatement of the 13th, 14th salary, it has been over 10 years now that it has been abolished and must be reinstated”.
As for the “vote of tolerance from the parties of the left” that Al. Tsipras, said that “there is no tolerance for a government that is outright anti-popular. There is a possibility of cooperation governments and based on this electoral law, on May 22 we can have a cooperation government from the parties that agree on programmatic strategic objectives”.
“They can find these parties instead of hurting the Greek people, the economy, the country. They are doing this because they want to basically – let’s put it this way – steal votes from smaller parties, the two biggest parties so that they get the much-desired self-reliance,” he said.
D. Koutsoubas noted that “even in the second elections, if they are held, there will be independence. This is our estimate. We will go to cooperative governments again, so this inconvenience is a “no brainer”. There is no tolerance in a government for “one or two” issues, as Mr. Tsipras says, pretending and mocking the Greek voter. This is where the government will be called upon to face serious issues. For example on July 11 we have a big NATO Summit. That’s where countries will join, we disagree. What tolerance should we give?’
The head of the KE of the party concluded his interview by underlining: “Strong KE. This is the real dilemma today for the people to be strong.”
