“The current government is the worst right-wing we have seen since the Post-colonialism and after” said the president of SYRIZA
A fierce attack on Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the ND was launched by Alexis Tsipras from Tripoli, where he toured and spoke to citizens, claiming that the current government is “the worst right-wing we have seen since the Post-colonialism”.
He said he is saying this “not only because he plundered the middle class, despite what he promised them, to support a few powerful people”, but also because of “the abominations he has done with the issues of democracy and the rule of law, with surveillance, the manipulation of Justice, with the atrocities he did all these days under the pretext of blocking the Kasidiaris party”.
He claimed in particular: “Yesterday the whole plan was revealed. They told us that they were supposedly trying to get Kasidiaris out of the country, who were letting him campaign for 3 years from prison, and they changed the law not following the obvious, what we suggested, that is to add to the existing law an express sentence that those are definitively convicted of crimes of 157 of the Criminal Code, their parties or those who have such in their combinations, will not be able to go down. They didn’t do that. They gave the jurisdiction to a closed panel of judges to decide who can go down and who can’t.”
“Because in the end”, the president of SYRIZA PS emphasized, “their goal was not Kasidiaris, but to check which parties will come down and which will not from the so-called “right-wing apartment building”. “And a bomb fell on the right apartment building these days,” he commented, saying that “some ‘apartments’ were destroyed and collapsed, some others remained intact.” “The “apartments” of those parties that have declared their loyalty to Mitsotakis for the day after the elections, will go to the elections, those that have not declared their loyalty, will not go down,” noted Mr. Tsipras and added:
“Now it becomes clear what exactly the president of the Supreme Court department who resigned shortly before Easter, alleging scheming and that Mr. Gerapetritis caught him in a cafe outside Maximos and told him do one and the other and we will do you head of an independent authority”. “People do not hesitate anywhere, they are a regime, they are ruthless,” he said.
Mr. Tsipras noted that “in the face of this wretchedness, we have one thing to say, and I refer to all democratic citizens: Greece on May 22 must become a normal European country, not a unit to restore justice everywhere, but to bring democracy back to power.”
He emphasized that there are two versions on the evening of May 21: “let the big interests, the establishment and the oligarchs celebrate, if the ND of Mr. Mitsotakis is the first party, or let the people, the democrats and progressives, take to the streets to celebrate in the evening citizens, because with the victory of SYRIZA we will have a government of progressive cooperation the next day”.
