In Grevena, the second stop of his tour in western Macedonia, the president of PASOK-KINAL Nikos Androulakis was this morning.
At the PASOK election center he was welcomed by dozens of friends and members of the party, while he then walked through the historic center of the city and the central square where he talked with citizens and professionals of Grevena.
In his statements to journalists, he emphasized that in western Macedonia and Grevena there is a strong demographic problem, pointing out that “as a state we must support society, young couples and retirees”.
He also proposed a “new EKAS for 350,000 pensioners and the abolition of the personal difference”.
Mr. Androulakis also referred to the issue of energy poverty that particularly affects mountainous Greece and even more so Grevena, noting that “the green transition must be done in a fair way” so that growers, farmers, processors, municipal communities and cooperatives they have the possibility as a priority to make renewable energy parks in order to ensure low costs for their production.
He emphatically noted: “we want a fair transition that will not lead Greece to new regional inequalities at high costs that will undermine Greek production in the coming years” and concluded by saying: “we need policies of real regional development and not policies that have as center powerful financial interests and people who support the current ND government”.
