The head of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas, who at the beginning of his speech tonight at a large gathering in Kallithea, made a special reference to today’s anniversary of the Great Anti-Fascist Victory of the Peoples, he also underlined that “what has been written on the pages of history with blood, they do not erase with dirty ink. No matter how many millions the EU spends, no matter what the parties of the system do, in our country the ahistorical theory of the two extremes, unfortunately for them, remains in the minority.”

“Even if some ND candidates are debauched in the panels, saying that “the KKE is an anti-democratic party and should not participate in the elections”. They envied, it seems, the glory of some half-crazy graphics that have been circulating in recent years. Let’s go with them to drink some coffee…

Even if Mr. Tsipras ran on such a day 4 years ago in Sibiu, Romania, signing, together with Merkel, Orban, Kurtz and other far-right “fountains”, anti-communist declarations with references to the “iron curtain”, the terminology, that is, which used the extraordinary military courts in our country to send communists, militants to the detachment.

Even if some MPs of Mera25 tell us in parliament that socialism was “a little fascist”, that’s why capitalism is the best system that has been tried” he added.

“The leftists, the progressive people, all the democrats in this country, know very well that anti-Sovietism, anti-communism, have nothing to do with progress,” he underlined.

He also said that “what Mr. Tsipras said to Menidi about the Pontius in the Soviet Union has nothing to do with the truth.”

He added that “Tsipras remembered again, as he does every time we have elections, to dig up the slogan “what Plastiras, what Papagos”, in order to ridicule the KKE”, referring then

“we inform him and his ilk that this particular slogan is historically justified”.

D. Koutsoumbas also noted that “with some far-right associations that Mr. Tsipras has recently and there in Menidi or even earlier in Kastoria, it is up for debate whether he feels more like a political descendant of Plastiras or Papagos… Let’s so stop scratching at the shepherd’s pie…”.

He referred to the “late interest” of ND, SYRIZA, PASOK in the exacerbated problems of the returnees, he said that this “is a deception to grab votes”, recalling that they rejected last December an amendment of the KKE on the housing loans of the returnees”.

D. Koutsoubas said that on Sunday, May 21, “our people will measure their height, the strength with which they will face the next anti-people government”, stressing that “with a strong KKE, they will find themselves stronger, more prepared against the attack that will follow when the pre-election lights go out.”

As he said, “then their entire government program will come out of the drawers, which from the first pages includes over 350 anti-popular prerequisites until 2026 for the EU Recovery Fund, the memorandum of ND, SYRIZA and PASOK. What Mr. Varoufakis described as “an opportunity to do something good in the EU”.

He did not fail to point out that there are increasing indications that a new capitalist crisis is at hand internationally and every time this happens the people pay for it.

He called for the reinforcement of the KKE “to terrify the terrorists, so that we can fight our battles from better positions. To block them, to win victories, to finally pave the way for the radical changes that we all long for. Because until now, we ourselves, the many of us, the workers, the self-employed, the young men and women are paying dearly for the infamous capitalist development.”

He cited a “303% increase, in 2022 compared to 2021, in the net profits of only 150 business groups in the net profits of 150 business groups, while in the same period the real wage decreased by 7.4%, as a result of the anti-labor laws that they have all voted for the last 15 years and remain in effect, coupled with massive inflation.”

“And they have the audacity to ask the people, while Mr. Mitsotakis “an opportunity to govern for the first time without national crises and difficulties”, and Mr. Tsipras to “govern for the first time without a memorandum”!” he added, noting, among other things, that the people are tired of living in the Marmot’s day, “of patience and every opportunity”, and they want a better day to dawn. And this can only be imposed by himself with his struggle and with a much stronger KKE”.

D. Koutsoubas addressed a call to support the KKE and the thousands of independent professionals in the country, small traders and artisans, noting that the KKE “is the only party that has been on their side in every problem, in every impasse they have experienced and are experiencing these last years”.

He said that the “support” promised by the bourgeois parties “does not fit the vast majority of professionals” and reminded, among other things, that the KKE submitted amendments, substantive legislative proposals, which could act as a shield of protection for thousands of freelancers, the which “both the ND and SYRIZA, either from the position of the governing majority or from the position of the official opposition, rejected it in the name of the “strengths of the economy”.

“At the same time, of course, the tax exemptions for strategic investors and the “distressed” shipowners, the reduction of taxation on the dividends of large shareholders, give and take, both with ND and with SYRIZA” he said, stressing that freelancers “their right in survival, the needs of their families, presuppose a break with the support strategies of big capital. And only the KKE is a guarantee on this road.”

He called on the people to close their ears “to those who bombard him from morning to night, with scenarios and analyzes of who will go with whom, with almost no one discussing the policy that the next government will implement.”

“A government, in any case, will be formed and it will be anti-popular by hand. The best thing for the people is for a government of the weak and fearful to emerge… A government that will feel the hot breath of the working people’s movement, in every anti-people step. And this can only be done with a strong KKE” he stressed.

“Only the people save the people, with KKE much stronger! With 2 communist MPs elected in the Southern Sector! With many more across the country! So that there are more militant MPs in the Parliament, who will run, as did the KKE MP in the South, Christos Katsotis, from house to house where an eviction is going to take place, in order to stop it, together with the people of each neighborhood. We move forward, we move forward strongly, to raise our party as high as possible! So that our people can breathe! To pave the way, after all, for the big, the beautiful, the shocking!” concluded D. Koutsoubas in his speech.
