“However, if there was no national reason for the surveillance, how could he invoke national secrecy, in order to conceal the truth in the investigation” said the president of SYRIZA.
Emergency statement did today at noon o Alexis Tsipras, after the prime minister’s statement yesterday about the wiretapping.
Its president SYRIZA stated:
“From the yesterday’s discussion a rare piece of news has emerged.
For the first time, Mr. Mitsotakis publicly admitted that there is a wiretapping scandal and that there was no national reason for the surveillance.
But if there was no national reason for the surveillance, how did he himself invoke national secrecy in order to conceal the truth from the commission of inquiry.
And why did Mrs. Vlachou, who signed without any national reason, the prosecutor of the EYP, sign these illegal surveillances, why does she still remain in her position?
And why, 9 months later, has the justice system not given any responsibility?
No blame on anyone.
Mr. Androulakis’ report on the need for the perpetrators of this parastatal to be held accountable is reasonable.
Except that it is equally plausible that with a ND government this will never be implemented.
Only with a progressive government can this become a reality on May 22.
So let us all assume the responsibilities that are assigned to us.”
