“It is most likely that Mitsotakis will exhaust every possibility to form a government in any way after the elections, with blackmail or even defections,” said the president of SYRIZA-PS. Alexis Tsipras in his pre-election speech in Alexandroupolis.

“This regime will only be defeated with the victory of SYRIZA. We know and we can bring about this great change,” he said, taking stock of the SYRIZA government.

“We are told that the precision is imported, but the profiteering is Greek, and it has the seal of Mr. Mitsotakis with companies with profits of over one billion” emphasized the official opposition leader.

“These are the successes of the Mitsotakis government. It made the rich richer and the poor poorer. This injustice cannot continue (…) the government made the rich and the powerful stronger, but the middle and the poor poorer (…) Today the middle class has become living on vouchers (…) Repeal the 13th pension introduced by SYRIZA and he doesn’t give retroactive allowances and gifts,” he said. He emphasized that “we will break down inequalities”.

“Against this policy, we say that there is another way, another perspective”, added Mr. Tsipras, referring to the “Contract of Change”, which – as he said – is addressed to the people, but also to the progressive forces.

Regarding the OECD report, Mr. Tsipras argued that “it rubbishes the narrative of the Mitsotakis government”, criticizing the government of N.D. for the labor policies he followed.

Addressing the citizens of Evros and Alexandroupolis, Alexis Tsipras said that “Mr. Mitsotakis is coming to make propaganda, not to support you”.

“I want to tell you that this faction is used to us being the patriots and the lions when things are calm, but when things are tough they transform from lions to lambs.”

He commented critically on the government representative Akis Skertsos on the issue of war reparations: “4 years ago SYRIZA brought all the parties to the Parliament to claim the reparations (…) We will not allow anyone to claim that citizens who vote N are more patriotic .D. from the citizens of the progressive faction”.

Alexis Tsipras reiterated SYRIZA’s commitment to abolish it Minimum Entry Basis, while accusing the Mitsotakis government of “abandoning Evros”. “Photos next to the fence are not enough (…) We will not tear down their fence. We will, however, tear down the fences of inequalities”, added the president of SYRIZA.

Regarding the upcoming election, he said that “whoever comes out first will have the opportunity to form a coalition government”. “The crucial thing on election night is who will celebrate: the democratic people or the cartels and the powerful” he said and added: “With SYRIZA first, the way opens the next day for the formation of a government of progressive cooperation.”

He also described Kyriakos Mitsotakis as a “high priest of eavesdropping” who “listened to half the political system, the leaders of the armed forces” and who “did not have the courage to resign”. “If he gets a blank check for a second four-year term, what awaits us in this place?”, asked the president of SYRIZA.
