For the first time, one will be able to go to the polling station and vote with the ID they have on their mobile phone,” Minister of Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis told SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias.

“It’s not the only digital innovation in this election. Besides that, the Ministry of the Interior, the election system, will get the results much faster, 80% at 21:00 at night and before 12:00 at night we will have the crosses”.

Regarding the digitization of public services, Mr. Pierrakakis noted that “in terms of the goal, we are halfway there. Today 1550 services are on gov.gr and we saved from this effort, last year alone, 133 queues for every Greek citizen over 18 years old. Last year we had 1.2 billion digital transactions.”

Also, the Minister of Digital Governance emphasized that “the first thing we want to do after the elections is real estate transfers. It is a process that makes people suffer a lot. We have made a system, it is ready and at this moment, the file of transfer of property to the notary. The notary public should have in front of him a system that can retrieve all the information and instead of the citizen carrying the paperwork, the case can be handled immediately.”

“Why were the pensions not coming out on time? You had the money as a state in 2019 to pay the pensions but you did not have the information as the insurance history was not digitized. The main pension is already coming out in two months, it has not yet been decided about the supplementary pensions. With the digitization of the paper, it will be done in two minutes. If it’s all digital, all you have to do is push a button,” he added.

“All this should have been done decades ago. No thumbs up will fit, only the apology of the pendency will fit. At the end of the day, history will say that someone did it and someone didn’t,” concluded Mr. Pierrakakis.
