The prime minister once again alerted all executives and MPs of the blue faction

Kyriakos Mitsotakis insists on the positive narrative for the next day and the country and for the second pre-election period that starts in four days from today with the June 25 polls in sight, keeping all the blue-collar executives and MPs on alert and articulating the dilemmas and the goals of the new ballot box.
In his first TV interviewin Alpha, after the sweeping electoral victory of May 21, the president of the ND gave the stamp of the new narrative that he will propose for the next pre-election month that follows and put as primary the new dilemma that is identical to that of the previous ballot and remains the absolute parliamentary majority.
“The first dilemma is self-reliance, it is clear” he insisted and this goal, as Mr. Mitsotakis said, cannot allow any complacency despite the high percentage won by ND in last Sunday’s elections and the double score it secured against SYRIZA . “Because obviously it is much more important to be self-reliant the next day, than to get involved again in mishaps that could arise if the New Democracy is not self-reliant,” he observed.
In order to avoid any complacency, Mr. Mitsotakis reiterated the fact that despite the victorious result of May 21, “in every election the ballot box is empty. It must be refilled with many New Democracy ballots if the citizens wish to reaffirm the decision they actually made in the previous elections”.
Along with the new dilemmas of the ballot box, the prime minister once again alerted all executives and MPs of the blue party, sending a clear and unambiguous message that the struggle is ongoing with a demand that they continue the persistent struggle they started for the 21st election May, although the next polls in June will be held with a list and without a preference cross.
“If some of our executives think that they took out the obligation against themselves by being elected very well with a cross and now they can sit back and enjoy their electoral victory and not join the collective struggle, a very big disappointment will await them after the elections, as long as the Greek citizens trust us” Kyriakos interpreted Mitsotakis and explained:
“I will evaluate very carefully the work that all the executives will do and I have a demand that they run as much for the party as they ran for themselves. Some have the added incentive that MPs may be elected now, with enhanced proportionality. But many who have already been elected parliamentarians should know that there will be a very strict monitoring mechanism for their political activity during this pre-election period,” the prime minister stressed.
In fact, he connected the activity of ND executives and MPs with ministerial positions, declaring that “what they did in these elections will count more than what order they had in the previous elections” he said and added because it is a collective effort. Because I completely understand that we had very good ballots and the mobilization of the cross adds to the party, the candidate also claims his or her individual election. I also know that there are candidates who didn’t make it and there is the disappointment of losing. But here we are together, we are a team and we all have to come together with this collective effort.”
Kyriakos Mitsotakis also showed the way for the communication of his executives with the citizens, which concerns everyone as he observed and noted “let’s thank them, tell them: “thank you for your vote, for your support, please make the effort again this step again, because unfortunately we didn’t choose the simple analog”. The simple analog burned, I would say ignited itself, in an impressive way. We didn’t choose it, unfortunately we have to vote again. Take the step to re-vote those you voted for last time” he said characteristically.
However, the prime minister avoided “messing up” with the behind-the-scenes happenings in the opposition parties and especially within SYRIZA after the crushing electoral defeat he suffered, stating that this discussion does not concern him while he added one more “directive” for the new elections by emphasizing that “in these upcoming elections we will vote on who will be the government. I don’t think the citizens are voting on who will be the opposition.”
He reiterated the stake that prevailed during the previous pre-election period and concerns the governability of the country, “The main issue is how the country will be governed. I say this because I am fully aware of the high percentages achieved by the New Democracy and the need the citizens to go to the polls again, on June 25, and reaffirm the choice they have already made. From there, what happens in the opposition concerns SYRIZA and PASOK. Let me once again express my wish in this pre-election period to be able to talk more effectively, more programmatically, about the country’s major problems,” he remarked.
