The Acting Minister of Justice, Philippas Spyropoulos, today made ceremonial visits to the supreme courts of the country, to the plenary session of the presidents of the bar associations of Greece, to the Notaries Association of Athens, Piraeus, Aegean, etc..

In more detail, the Acting Minister of Justice visited the president of the Council of State, Evangelia Nikas, the president and the prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Maria Georgiou and Isidoros Dogiako, respectively, the vice president of the Court of Audit, Sotiria Dounis, who replaces the president of of the supreme fiscal court and interim prime minister Ioannis Sharma, the general commissioner of the Court of Audit, Stamatios Poulis, the general commissioner of the State of Administrative Courts, Ioannis Symeonidis, the president of the plenary session of the presidents of the bar associations of Greece and president of the Athens Bar Association, Dimitris Vervesos and the president of the Notarial Association of the Courts of Appeal of Athens, Piraeus, Aegean and Dodecanese Giorgos Rouskas.

Also, the president of the plenary session, according to a related announcement, during the visit of the acting minister of justice, raised issues that concern the legal world and need to be addressed immediately.

Specifically, Mr. Vervesos raised with Mr. Spyropoulos, among others, the following outstanding issues:

  1. Establishment of a law-making committee for the modernization of the Lawyers’ Code.
  2. Speeding up the payment of Legal Aid compensation.
  3. Immediate issuance of the ministerial decision on the operation of the country’s courts for the period of the parliamentary elections on June 25, 2023.
  4. Immediate response to the problem presented by the lack of mobile insignia and promotion of the solutions proposed by the legal body (Lawyer’s Electronic Wallet).
  5. Accelerating the procedures related to the NSRF subsidized internship program for lawyers and law firms.
