The citizens who will go to the polls know that the contest that will take place will be the final one – The “fight” is focused on the economic sector
By Antonis Anzoletou
In every pre-election period there is one forbidden word: “taxation”.
What was heard last week from his representatives SYRIZA and his PASOKfor dividends and ENFIA they were exploited by New Democracy in order to highlight the “hidden agenda”, as they claimed, of the opposition parties.
In other words, the way in which the benefits they have included in their programs will be financed.
The fight now culminates in the triangle of Piraeus, Koumoundourou, Charilaou Trikoupi and is focused on the economic sector.
SYRIZA and PASOK talk about a distortion of their positions, as both foresee, through their plans, the equal distribution of burdens with relief for the social majority and no tax burden.
The citizens who will go to the polls know that the confrontation which will take place will be the final. And it is natural from the moment they are called to elect a government for the next four years that the economy and consequently their “pockets” should be the first criterion.
It is no coincidence that both Alexis Tsipras and Nikos Androulakis have focused on these issues in their campaigns.
The official opposition leader in the previous election campaign had raised high profile issues such as the Tempe accident and surveillance.
Now its burden has fallen on the popular neighborhoods. At the same time, PASOK will try to overcome SYRIZA in other regions where the differences are very small.
The pre-election landscape three weeks before the polls is becoming more complex after the first polls that saw the light of day.
They show that it is very likely that two more parties will enter the Parliament.
Of Sailing Freedom and Victory. This means that the bar of self-reliance for the New Democracy is rising and what they exorcise in the camp of the blue faction is complacency.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis is running a different pre-election campaign and is putting more emphasis on contact with the citizens.
From next week, the issue of debate will be included in the agenda of the party confrontation. Next Tuesday, the inter-party committee will meet and a new conflict between the parties is expected to be recorded. SYRIZA brings back to the agenda the telephone battle of the “two first” for the program, but also of the five parties of the Parliament. The other opposition parties also want a debate with everyone.
Attica
The party mechanisms have turned their attention to the special audiences, the undecided and of course the “key” regions that were the regulator of May 21.
The most striking example was Attica with over three million registered voters. That is, about 1/3 of the electorate.
SYRIZA’s losses in the basin were enormous and New Democracy will do everything to prevent the official opposition from recovering and if possible to widen the gap even more.
An “alarm” has been sounded in Koumoundourou and the entire past week was dedicated to former “castles” of the party. Alexis Tsipras visited Nikaia, Keratsini, Agioi Anargyrou, Haidari, while the first meeting of the Electoral Commission was held in Egaleo.
And Kyriakos Mitsotakis, however, started his tour from Peristeri and is expected to be in areas of Attica when he recovers from the corona virus.
A big “wound” for PASOK is the capital and all the surrounding areas, as nowhere did it exceed 9%. Apart from Eastern Attica, the party of Nikos Androulakis emerged in the basin as the fourth force behind the KKE.
