The “thread” of the tours picks up where it left off last week – because coronavirus– Kyriakos Mitsotakis, returning to the demanding program of the pre-election period.

Twenty days before the June 25 election, the “pre-election machines” of Piraeus they are working at full capacity and in a series of meetings held yesterday, the schedule of the ND president and the executives of the blue faction for the next period was updated.

The first stop on the visits within Attica for Kyriakos Mitsotakis is today Nea Ionia, an area where the ND overturned the facts there as well, achieving a great victory and a comfortable lead in the May elections, almost 10 points, receiving a percentage of 33.11% and 10,383 votes against 23.91% and 7,499 votes of SYRIZA. A difference that gains even more weight given that the ND lost Nea Ionia to SYRIZA in the 2019 elections.

After Nea Ionia, tomorrow Wednesday, a pre-election “tour” is planned in Northern Greece, specifically in Kavala, Thassos and Drama. The whole of Macedonia, after all, is at the center of Piraeus’ pre-election strategy, in order to “release” the pressure it receives in certain areas there, the ND from its right, and for this reason, a few days after Saturday, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will ascend again to Macedonia, to visit Pella and Pieria.

We all remember the gathering that took place last Sunday after the swearing in of the MPs in the Parliament, at the party offices on Piraeus Street where a meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis was planned. There was an atmosphere of euphoria, smiles, congratulations and in a small group of parliamentarians there was a “shadow of the unsatisfied”.

In a group of MPs from Northern Greece who immediately after the short speech of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, instead of enjoying the “victories” of the May elections, went up to the third floor of the party’s offices where Yiannis Bratakos was waiting for them.

The invitation concerned the 12 candidates who were elected in A’ and B’ Thessaloniki, due to the fact that the results in these regions and especially in the first one were much lower than expected with the parties to the right of the ND winning a large share of the voters. A problem due to groups and systems that thrive in the wider region and fervently support the Greek Solution and VICTORY.

In the “Macedonian” race are also leading executives who are considered to be representatives of the party’s “more right-wing” audience, such as Adonis Georgiadis who is expected to visit Thesprotia, Pella, Preveza and Kastoria, while he will also visit Mount Athos and Makis Voridis will go to Florina, Grevena, Kilkis and Pieria.

The joint visit of Nikos Dendias and Nikos Panagiotopoulos to Evros, with the two former Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense symbolizing the policy followed by the government in guarding the borders, is highly symbolic.
