“We have no regrets because we defended the vision of simple analog. Others must regret, because they did not allow the political system of the country to change the page”, said the president of SYRIZA
“The SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance program is the only alternative proposal for power against the Mitsotakis plan”, stressed the party’s president Alexis Tsipras, and expressed the belief that on June 25, the overturning of correlations can take place. As he characteristically stated, “SYRIZA is not a flare that will go out, but it comes from afar and will go far”.
“Mr. Mitsotakis tells us that he has not paid a single tax in the last four years. The truth, however, is that in the last 16 months, he has put 6 billion more in taxes on the middle class, the pensioners, the salaried, the weak citizens”, he said during his speech to the citizens of Sind in Democracy Square.
“They asked us to cost our program and when we told them ‘let’s go and cost them’ together, they hid,” he observed – and continued:
“But I really want to ask myself: How much does a human life cost, how much does it cost to be able to live with dignity, how much does it cost not to ‘run away’ like a dog in the back of a farm car, because there is no staff in the ambulance service while there are ambulances?” »
At the same time, he noted that SYRIZA in his program, he proposes an increase in wages and a decrease in prices.
“We are not a flare. We come from afar and we will go far, because we express and represent social needs, we express and represent the interests of underprivileged Greeks, we express and represent the interests of the working class, small and medium entrepreneurship, wage labor, young people. We express and represent the interests of Greece which has no voice. We will always be alive on the ramparts and we will fight, because society needs a strong SYRIZA, which can be a bulwark against the advance of neoliberal policies, anti-popular policies”, stressed Mr. Tsipras.
For the June 25 election, he said it is “a new fight” and noted: “We want to fight until the last second to correct our weaknesses and mistakes so that we can in this election contest, speak and look in the eyes of the citizens and to put the real problems that concern our lives at the center of the discussion.
We have no regrets because we defended the vision of simple analog. Others must regret, because they did not give the opportunity to change the page of the country’s political system, to get away from toxicity and go to cooperative governments with programmatic convergences.
At the same time that we were concerned, how to save the country from a right-wing government, which attacks rights, the other progressive forces were looking at how to become SYRIZA instead of SYRIZA, and not how to save the country.
So, it is not easy to become SYRIZA, because we all have a story in this place. And we are not a flare that will go out. We are children of necessity. We have grown and grown during the most difficult times in recent years.
For 15 years we have known the war of the system and the war of other political forces. This war does not scare us – it strengthens us”.
Alexis Tsipras also spoke about the distortion of SYRIZA’s positions on freelancers, which was attempted three days before the May 25 elections and underlined: “Distorting the positions of SYRIZA in a gross way, we were told that SYRIZA’s plan is to increase the insurance contributions of the self-employed. The truth is that SYRIZA’s plan is to settle the debts of freelancers, not to increase their contributions.”
Addressing the citizens “who know that with a New Democracy government the next four years will be very hard for the working forces, for the middle class, for the weak, for the rule of law” and invited them to reflect on the following day ” and despite the disagreements they may have with us, despite the reservations they may have with us, to unite their voice and strength at the SYRIZA ballot box on June 25″.
“The system, the establishment, but also the propaganda of the New Democracy, wants one thing: All those who are against them, to fragment, to go to small parties. So we say ‘don’t do them a favor. It needs the next day, from any position, a strong SYRIZA, a strong force on the side of the people, on the side of society, to prevent social looting'”, he pointed out and added:
“Until the last second we will fight to overturn this balance of power.
I invite you until the 25th of June to go on a big counterattack for the overthrow of the correlations. We can all achieve a winning election result together.”
The president of SYRIZA-PS finally referred to the problems of Sindos and western Thessaloniki in general, saying: “Sindos, Western Thessaloniki, is the backyard of Thessaloniki. It is probably the most discredited and the most forgotten area of Thessaloniki and we must work together for the self-evident rights. For the right to public health and care, for the right to public education, the right even to drinking water. Self-evident things have not been conquered for the area of Sindos and western Thessaloniki”.
Mr. Tsipras walked in the center of Sindos and exchanged handshakes with citizens.
Earlier, he had a meeting in Kymina with representatives of farmers and mussel farmers where he was informed about their problems.
