“Extraordinary” he characterized through it radio of SKAI 100.3, the head of the Electoral Committee of SYRIZA, Dionysis Tebonerasyesterday’s statement by Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding two SYRIZA candidates who were elected in the previous election process with the open support of the Turkish consulate.

“I never remember in recent history, whether there was a ND candidate in the past, or a PASOK candidate from the minority, that someone has dared to create such a divisive issue in the Muslim minority. I hope the people in Rodopi and Xanthi will take it seriously attention”, said Mr. Teboneras.

He emphasized that the influence of the Turkish consulate has been known for years and interventions have been made to stop it. Asked to answer whether there was any official information on the matter from Mr. Mitsotakis ahead of the elections, he denied it, saying characteristically that “we did not have any complaint nor it was reported that something like that happened.”

“Such a complaint is very serious and affects the country’s image internationally,” he said. In an attempt to justify the low percentages of SYRIZA in the elections, Mr. Teboneras attributed them to three reasons:

In the fact that the ND installed an agenda of fear that was reinforced by geopolitical developments, in that SYRIZA itself was trapped in the dead-end strategy of simple analogy, but also in some inappropriate statements that were made on the eve of the elections and which clouded the party’s message.

When asked how he would comment on Alexis Tsipras’s statement that he thought of resigning after the results of the first election process, Mr. Teboneras said that in no case is this issue a discussion on the eve of the elections.

“Mr. Mitsotakis, ND and other systems wish to get rid of Mr. Tsipras. This is not a discussion on the eve of the elections,” he stressed.
