Those who imagine that Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots cannot co-exist have been disproved by history and will be disproved by the future, said the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulidis.

In his statements on the sidelines of his visit to Paphos Chamber of Commerce and IndustryPresident Christodoulidis, asked about his meeting with the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, pointed out that “I have publicly expressed repeatedly my readiness to meet with Mr. Tatar” and added: “I have conveyed this desire to him either for a social meeting or in the context of the attempt to restart the talks. I have also proposed a joint visit to the anthropological laboratory on the subject of missing persons, a subject that is humanitarian, not at all political, and I hope that soon there will be a positive response from him.”

“For my part, I am ready for such a meeting to take place tomorrow as well”, concluded Mr. Christodoulidis.
