“The decision of Mr. Mitsotakis to expel Spyros Pneumatikos from the ND lists with a huge delay and after the two interventions of Mr. Tsipras, both yesterday at SKAI and today at the press conference, constitutes an admission of guilt and a hidden agenda of the ND in Health” says SYRIZA in a statement.
He adds that “the Mitsotakis staff was the only circle of people in the whole country who did not feel a shudder at the unthinkable statement about triaging patients suffering from cancer in order to reduce the cost of care.
Initially they tried to cover up the issue, with a statement of reconstruction by Mr. Pneumatikos himself. 24 hours had to pass and a tsunami of political and social reactions arose for the ND to realize that this vulgar affair cannot be covered up”.
SYRIZA continues: “And Mr. Pneumatikos would not have been expelled if Mr. Tsipras had not made it clear that his statement reveals the hidden agenda of the ND on Health.
Mr. Pneumatikos may be leaving the ND ballots, but what remains is the revelation of the hidden agenda of the ND on Health: Further shrinking of the NHS, privatization and downgrading of public free universal care at the altar of cost.
On June 25th, two opposing plans also collide for Health: that of the ND and that of SYRIZA. Citizens must make their choice.”
