“Our people can raise the KKE even higher. To increase his buoyancy at the ballot box, with a much stronger KKE. With a larger percentage, with more MPs, everywhere” stressed the general secretary of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoubas in the pre-election speech in Thessaloniki.

“Since the last election rally, here in Thessaloniki, we have been sending a message to all of Greece about these last hours. The hope is here. Now KKE is strong, because the people will need it immediately with it in the games, it will be on the front line” said Mr. Koutsoubas and among other things he added:

“And here in Thessaloniki, the people of the city should take the step and elect again after fifteen years a second member of parliament in the 1st electoral district of the city, send the far-right formation of Velopoulos to the agyristo, let the KKE be the third party in Thessaloniki ».

Mr. Koutsoubas argued that during the pre-election period, the “joint program of the ND-SYRIZA-PASOK, through the report of the Commission”, was “revealed”, as well as “literally “disposable” parties, which exist today and tomorrow you don’t know where they will be and after commenting on the departures that have occurred from “Freedom Sailing”, “MERA 25” and “Hellenic Solution” he added:

“The people need MPs they know will be there. No parties that appear and disappear overnight. Deputies who you don’t know where their hat comes from: Opportunists, careerists who find refuge in formations that will not exist tomorrow”.

The general secretary of the KKE also referred to other parties, which, as he said, “are not just graphic, but also dangerous”, with “unscientific theories, with creepy positions” which “end up in critical support for anti-popular measures and full support for employers”. and added:

“These are the far-right and pro-Nazi parties. Let’s send them all to Thermaikos, let them drown there. Therefore, Thessaloniki should have a 3rd party, the KKE”.

“Well, when you look more closely at such parties and search a little better, you see that after all their leaders have a dirty past and a certain unpopular future” continued Mr. Koutsoubas and added:

“They are born servants of this barbarous system. Our people do not need such people in the Parliament. However, it is very important for Thessaloniki, for example, a city of one million, that the KKE has three MPs…. But how much importance will it have for the people of Thessaloniki to finally trash this far-right formation of Velopoulos, with its continuous racist slur, together with the rest of the reactionary groups that appear to function as sects, such as Niki, but also the pro-Nazi supporters of the condemned assassinator”.

Mr. Koutsoubas called on the voters to take stock of what they experienced in the past period, to be exact, the auctions, the shrinking of income, the problems in education and health, but also to remember the struggles, in which the KKE was the leader, as “the only 100% militant popular opposition, not in words, but in deed”. He pointed out that after the last elections “when SYRIZA was sowing disappointment”, the KKE told the people that “there is hope”, while rejecting the “general nonsense about the “conservatisation” of the electorate, saying:

“Isn’t it a little late for tears from those who say this, like SYRIZA? Shouldn’t he have thought about them before he baptized the fascists, supporters of the murderous Chrysaugitians, deluded? Shouldn’t he have thought of that before dashing the hopes of many with a 3rd and worse memorandum? In other words, what did he expect, with Marantzidis as adviser and the right-wing Antonaros as the first guy after a four-year hug in the government with the far-right Kamenos? Are SYRIZA voters going to become, wait, more progressive like this?”

“We have proven again that we are the only ones who are not afraid in the face of the negative association” continued Mr. Koutosympas and added: “And this is a guarantee for the people for the next difficult day with the anti-popular ND government. Because we know that with the KKE in front, the people have the power to wipe them out. There is hope, we can be optimistic because the KKE can be strengthened and face all of them”

“Even if they don’t have the confidence and style of a “thousand cardinals” in the SW, that they are doing an anti-popular walk. This was also the case with the DAPites and we saw what happened to them, from the communists and Panspudastika. There is KKE here. The only 100% militant, popular opposition, not in words, but in action. The KKE has also proven in this pre-election period that it is the only hope for the people,” said Mr. Koutsoubas and continued:

“It is certain that the KKE will not vote for the revision of Article 16 of the Constitution and will also organize the students’ struggle, when all the other parties from SYRIZA and PASOK to Pleussi and MeRA are ready to discuss it.”

Mr. Koutsoubas explained why “only the increase of the KKE, even the smallest one, is of such great importance for the people”.

“We do agree with Mr. Tsipras on this. It is really completely irrelevant if SYRIZA will fall to 19 or 18 or 17%, if PASOK will lose 1 or 2 points, if ND will be self-sufficient with 1 or 2 points less. But it is very important that the KKE is higher. To have more MPs. So that there will be more of those who will be found tomorrow already at public house auctions, in workplaces, where the people need them.

“Why if the ND parliamentary group included the owners of the collection companies… If the SYRIZA ballots include those who voted for the handing over of the red loans to the funds… If the PASOK ballots include the lawyers of the funds… On the KKE ballots there are those who are crawling to the courts by the funds because they are defending the people’s homes with the people. Things are that simple sometimes. They are you and they are us and everyone chooses and takes.”

The general secretary of the KKE argued that “the signature of the EU is in every small and large shipwreck that we experienced and are experiencing” referring to the shipwreck in Pylos, due to the policies of the EU. about Dublin, the agreement with Turkey, the re-promotions and the camps, while he also recalled the fatal train accident in Tempi and added:

“And from here, from Thessaloniki, we want to say again. The KKE will not allow them to be forgotten! Our people will not let this crime be forgotten. We say this first of all to the families, that we will not let the statute of limitations for political and criminal responsibilities”.

Mr. Koutsoubas also criticized “the signature” of the E.U. in Health, due to the austerity policies that were adopted and the “prerequisites” that he will be asked to adopt, as he said, even after the elections, and he referred to the shortcomings of the National Health System, saying:

“This is the policy of the governments and the EU in Health. The KKE is the only one that opposes the EU as a whole, when others like “Pleisi” have forgotten how to spell it. The KKE is the only one telling the people that this reactionary alliance cannot be corrected from the media, like the fumaras sold by Varoufakis. The KKE is the only one that the Greek people can trust, that it will put up with the EU policy, which the ND has co-shaped and is ready to implement, and SYRIZA and PASOK closely, like puppets.”

Mr. Koutsoubas called on the voters to put “on the scales” on the one hand, what they went through in the previous years, and on the other hand, their needs and dreams, “all these, that is, what he believes he deserves in the 21st century and added:

“And let him ask himself: Can we continue like this? We say no. In our time, the possibilities that exist are for much more. The KKE says that we can go another way…. It is not a one-way street for people’s lives to be measured by profit…. We believe that a new stream of progressivism and radicalism can be born, which will embrace great forces of the people and the youth of our country. No new delusions, for new saviors. And the KKE will lead this trend. It will be, above all, that which keeps the spark lit so that the darkness becomes light, with the society without exploitation of man by man, socialism. The society we will live in. With the proposal of workers’ popular power, popular governance of the KKE for socialized means of production, with central scientific planning, without the criterion of profit being an obstacle to meeting needs. All this and much more we can achieve with a stronger people and a strong KKE on their side”.
