The countdown to the return to political “normality” after the prolonged pre-election period exacerbated by simple proportionality, already began after the result of the ballot box and the return of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the Maximos Palace, also marked the beginning of a new government term, with prime minister to aim to give to new ministerial structure those characteristics of a “reform government”.

A goal that for Kyriakos Mitsotakis – as his colleagues commented – can only be achieved in one way: “hard work”.

After all, this is also the message that the prime minister sends at every opportunity to society, but also to the executives of his party and the new government that today is sworn in and takes office. Leading officials of the ND emphasized from the first moment of the party’s re-election that they of course feel satisfied with the great victory of the blue faction, but they also underlined what Kyriakos Mitsotakis has been emphasizing at every opportunity since Sunday night, that the feeling of responsibility is great.

“The responsibility is increasing to meet the expectations of the world. I never promise miracles. I will remain faithful to the task with hard work without tolerating any arrogance and arrogant behavior” the prime minister promised and interpreted at the same time.

The central programmatic issues raised by the ND in the pre-election period for an increase in wages that will result from growth, for reforming the National Social Security System, for a more citizen-friendly state, for a strong and safe Greece, for reducing inequalities will be the “road map” of the new government with particular emphasis on the social brand of the government and reducing inequalities.

Health, wage increases and social cohesion are among the first priorities of Kyriakos Mitsotakis for this new government term, say ND executives referring to the everyday life of citizens, putting forward the social person who wants to promote the Maximos Palace, strengthen and implement according to the period of the new administration.

“The citizens gave the ND a strong mandate but not a blank check” the prime minister is expected to say to his ministers during the first Council of Ministerstomorrow Wednesday, which will have a celebratory nature, but also the corresponding messages and directions to the ministers for the government mandate that requires reforms, projects, speed and solutions to the citizens’ problems.

The reformist profile of the new government is also reflected in the persons chosen in critical sectors which are also a personal bet of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as we heard him repeat repeatedly during the pre-election period and which concern the economy, health, education and justice.

A profile that is reflected in the first-rate Minister of Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, who gathers in his person the characteristics of a progressive, effective reformer politician who carries out all special missions as he has already recorded an important reform work solving – among others – the chronic “Gordian link” of the rapid granting of pensions, with a simultaneous consolidation of public finances.

His choice too Michalis Chrysochoidis in the Ministry of Health, a centre-left politician with a social profile, a consistent and efficient Minister, as characterized by his government tenure in critical government posts (Citizen Protection, Economy, Development, Transport and Infrastructure) is estimated to be able to carry out the major changes for a public and free national health system.

Similar expectations for him Kyriakos Pierrakakis at the Ministry of Education, after the success and “revolution” credited to him in the digitization of the state and will now undertake to run with the same speed and efficiency the creation of the new school.

One of the persons, finally, that Kyriakos Mitsotakis chose to advance the reforms in the field of Justice and to face one of the biggest problems which is the speed of its award, is Giorgos Floridis, coming from the area of the center, he was chosen in one of the most suffering sectors of the country.
