“Everything will be decided here for the next decades”, noted the new Minister of Education during the ceremony of handing over the ministry
“We want kids less like hard drives and more like processors”. This he emphasized upon assuming his new duties as Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakisearlier today, Tuesday.
The new minister was applauded when he said that his main priorities will be the full digitization of the ministry’s services and the reduction of bureaucracy. “It will become the first fully digitized ministry,” he said.
“Everything will be decided here for the next decades”he noted the important role of the ministry and added that it is the “preeminent ministry that refers to the future, invests for the future, anoints the future and talks with the future”.
Mr. Pierrakakis mentioned that is the goal of Education to be a field of convergences and consents, as well as that every day to make a small change that will improve the lives of the education contributors. “Where major incisions are made, they will be done in an organized and methodical manner and with consultation,” he clarified.
“However, we will do more than we promise,” he said.
It is recalled that the new leadership of the Ministry of Education consists -except for Mr. Pierrakakis- by the Deputy Ministers of Education, Zetta Makri and Domna Michailidou and the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Economou.
In their speeches, the deputy ministers thanked the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for the trust in them and underlined the already good cooperation between the members of the leadership of the ministry.
