Congratulations to Spain for assuming the Presidency of the Council of the EU, as well as wishes for a productive presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses in a post on Twitter.

He also emphasizes that he looks forward to close cooperation in the interest of the EU and its citizens.

It is noted that Spain exercises the 6-month rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU from today, July 1, until December 31, 2023.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanks Sweden for the “successful presidency” of the Council of the EU in the first half of the year.

It should be noted that the Presidency of the Council is exercised by rotation by the EU member states for one semester. During this semester, the Presidency chairs meetings at all levels of the Council, ensuring the continuity of the EU’s work within the Council.
