The municipality of Rafina Pikermiou was visited today by the Regional Governor of Attica G. Patoulis, as part of the tours he has started throughout Attica with the aim of being informed about the progress of the implementation of important projects and infrastructures that are being carried out with funding from the Region, while at the same time he was informed about the needs of the local communities.

The Region of Attica has financed projects in the area of ​​the Rafina-Pikermio municipality during the current self-governing period, through programs and financial tools (PEP Attica, own resources, etc.), with a budget of approximately 17,658,603 euros. In addition, the Paralympic Sports Center of Rafina Pikermiou will be financed by resources of the PEP Attica 2021-2027 with the amount of 36,173,686 euros. To these projects will be added the pilot program of holistic green urban revitalization in the municipalities of Marathon and Rafina – Pikermiou, with a budget of 3,236,386 euros. Of particular importance is the inter-municipal project “Collection, treatment of urban sewage from the municipalities of Rafina-Pikermio and Spaton-Artemis and reuse-disposal of treated effluents”. The project has a total budget of 252,122,799 euros and has a management, approval and monitoring body, the special management service of the “Attica” program of the Attica Region. The operator is EYDAP.

As part of his tour, Mr. Patoulis visited the ongoing projects of “Construction of a dirt network in the municipality of Rafina Pikermio”, the “First Kindergarten of Pikermio” which is under construction, the new Rafina stadium which was completed with funding from the Region. At the same time, he inspected road paving projects in Rafina, he went to the Rafina Port Organization where he discussed with the president and the managing director about the projects for the rearrangement of the port’s projectors to be financed by the Region, he inspected asphalt paving projects in the center of Rafina and supervised the ongoing projects completion of the Amphitheater and facilities of the spiritual and cultural center” of the city. As part of his visit, he had the opportunity to talk with businessmen in shops in Rafina and in the shopping center of Pikermio. At the same time, Mr. Patoulis had a meeting at the town hall with the mayor Evag. Burnous, in the presence of vice-mayors and officials, where all the projects in progress, as well as those planned for the next programming period, were presented, while his tour ended in a central hotel in Rafina, where he had a meeting with citizens and representatives of local bodies.

During his visit to the projects and to the municipality of Rafina Pikermiou, the Regional Governor was accompanied, in addition to the mayor Evangelos Bournos, by the Deputy Regional Governor of Attica Ath. Avgerinos, the Deputy Regional Governor of Finance N. Peppas, the Deputy Regional Governor of Civil Protection – Environment and President of EDSNA B. Boney. Then the cafe was attended by, among others, the president of Eastern Attica DEEP V. Sofroni, the candidate regional councilors D. Damascus, I. Economakos (former mayor of Oropou), A. Petrou – Gini, V. Kavallaris, P. Bairaktaris, the politician of N.D. S. Nikolaidis, deputy mayors, as well as members of the municipal council.
