Answers to the leaders of all the opposition parties and the issues they raised during the discussion of the program statements, the Minister of State reserved Makis Voridiss from the floor of the Plenary and his new role in the government.

Just a few minutes ago, the president of the KO of SYRIZA-PS, Sokratis Famellos, came down from the podium and explained why his party does not give a vote of confidence to the Mitsotakis government. “Mr. Famelle, I don’t know where you will give a vote of confidence. I heard you’re going to give a vote of confidence to society. What is certain is that society did not give you a vote of confidence. gave a vote of confidence to New Democracy. So, it would be good to start grounding ourselves with the post-election reality…”, commented Makis Voridis.

As the president of the SYRIZA Committee also referred to yesterday’s statements by the Minister of Justice George Floridis, Makis Voridis reminded the national delegation of a series of provisions passed by the Tsipras government regarding the responsibility of bank executives. Among them is the provision of article 65 of Law 4472/2017 which stipulates that those who by law or by legal action have the custody or in any way the management of public property or property of a Local Self-Government Organization or NPDD property are not subject to criminal and civil responsibility for acts or omissions they perform in order to serve the restructuring or cancellation of loans, debts or debts as defined in the bankruptcy code or the laws governing their operation. “It doesn’t take imagination to know who voted for it,” said Makis Voridis and added that SYRIZA, in accordance with the provision of article 192 of Law 4389/2016, voted to dismiss the members of the Board of Directors and executives of the Superfund to which the public property. “And you lift a finger? And are you pointing a finger? “Really now?”, commented the Minister of State and also responded to the complaints about the independent Authorities. “I find it extremely interesting how we’ve gone from controlling the joints of power to having no control over powers. This is an interesting movement and it has more to do with the dire position you are in now”, said the Minister of State and pointed out that “no Authority and no authority can be unchecked and obviously there must be a check on the independent authorities, which in fact it is exercised by the Parliament”.

The Minister of State also commented on the “angry” of NIKI representatives “what will happen to the neutrality in the Constitution”. “They are struggling with constitutional revision. Welcome, there is a problem here. You don’t talk to yourself in your company anymore… So, since you don’t talk to yourself in your company, let me inform you. Article 3 of the Constitution was up for revision at the time when SYRIZA proposed a constitutional revision. Do you want me to inform you what was the content of the constitutional revision? I have Mr. Tsipras’ speech on this matter. Mr. Tsipras said then that the time has come for the religious neutrality of the Greek state to be explicitly enshrined in the Constitution. Guess who stopped this constitutional revision of Article 3. It wasn’t you. It was ND and Kyriakos Mitsotakis who stopped it. Welcome! Welcome! This is Parliament and you will come, knowing what has emerged and what has not emerged and what is the reality,” said the Minister of State.

But also for Freedom Sailing, she commented on her “anguish”, lest any ministerial offenses be eliminated, by shortening the Parliamentary Session. “I have news for you too. The article has been changed, the constitutional amortization period has been eliminated with a vote of New Democracy as well!”, said Mr. Voridis.

Not even the “Spartans” were excluded from the focus of Mr. Voridis. “I have been impressed with the “Spartans”. They spoke of constitutional patriotism. You said it two or three times. Father of constitutional patriotism Jürgen Habermas, who is a great German philosopher, developed the theory of constitutional patriotism precisely to answer the theory of patriotism that the Nazis were promoting in Germany at the time. Well said. Does Kasidiaris know that? Have you obtained a relevant permit? To understand now. Did we go from Kasidiaris to Habermas so quickly?”, commented the Minister of State.

Mr. Voridis said that the actions of the government and the opposition and their programs were judged in the elections. “These were judged. So there is no point in saying the same thing over and over again. To all of us, you remind us why you crashed this election. You can keep saying. But you remind us all why you are at 17%”, said the Minister of State, addressing the SYRIZA seats.

“The circle has closed with the collapse of left and right populism. This is how this cycle ended and now a new great political cycle is opening. The prime minister has therefore given you the opportunity to position yourself on the vision for the country from now on. Now that we have come out of enhanced surveillance, now the country is back on its feet, now the Prime Minister has presented his vision. A vision of freedom and responsible patriotism. And if you wonder why today the ND is a leading force in the whole of Europe, it is the largest center-right party, the answer lies in the coupling of these two concepts: nation and freedom are the two concepts we defend. From the value of freedom, all policies of economic freedom are born, the reduction of tax rates, confidence in the private economy, the strengthening of competitiveness, the increase of GDP, the reduction of public debt, fiscal discipline. From the policy of proud patriotism is born an inclusive society that includes us all, all Greeks, without any exception, without leaving anyone behind. This is exactly our social policy which has been expressed by supporting the weakest in all the difficult phases we have gone through. ND and the government, both in the pandemic and the energy crisis, never left anyone behind, never left anyone without support”.

At this point, Mr. Voridis observed that the Greek people in the elections preferred the measured program of the ND to the generous program of SYRIZA, but SYRIZA did not learn its lesson that the era of populism, inexpensive promises and easy lies.
