SYRIZA brings up the issue of wiretapping again on the occasion of new publications, according to which “the relationship of Megaros Maximos and the EYP with Intellexa and the Predator wiretapping system is clearly proven.”

In a statement, SYRIZA states:

“New journalistic revelations come to clearly demonstrate the relationship of the Maxim Palace and the National Intelligence Service with Intellexa and the Predator interception system.

According to an international journalistic investigation published today, the Israelis of Intellexa had developed such a relationship with the Greek government that they even sent corrections to a draft Memorandum of Cooperation with North Macedonia on cybersecurity issues to the EYP and the Office of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

At the same time, it is revealed that the Israeli creator of Predator himself resided in an apartment owned by a former MP of the New Democracy which was leased not by Intellexa, but by a well-known arms dealer, who had also brokered the lease of Intellexa’s offices in Elliniko.

Now the evidence is overwhelming.

The government and Mr. Mitsotakis must give explanations to Greek society. The independent Greek Judiciary must speed up the work of investigating the wiretapping scandal and make criminal responsibilities personal. We call on the new Minister of Justice to request the acceleration of the investigations and to assist the Prosecutors of First Instance. At the same time, it should be ensured that the Authority for Ensuring the Privacy of Communications and the Authority for the Protection of Personal Data will complete their investigations unimpeded.
