By decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Gerapetritis, as of today, Friday, July 14, Stratos Efthymiou, Counselor of the First Embassy, assumes the duties of Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs warmly thanks the outgoing Representative, Giorgos Arnaoutis, for his two-year term in the Information Service of the Ministry and his tireless contribution from the position of the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The new Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stratos Efthymiou, Counselor of the Embassy A’, has completed undergraduate studies in political sciences and international relations at the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris (Sciences Po) and Panteion University. He speaks English, French, Spanish and Turkish and has knowledge of German and Russian. He has completed postgraduate studies in international relations at Sciences Po in Paris, has been a fellow at the Weatherhead Center at Harvard University and holds a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Mr. Efthymiou has served in the Embassies of Greece in Moscow and Ankara, he has been the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consul General of Greece in Boston. He returns to Athens from Brussels, where he worked as the liaison with the European Parliament of the Permanent Representation of Greece to the European Union.
