PASOK-KINAL considers that today’s update Personal Data Protection Authority“constitutes a first public institutional record of the scope of the wiretapping scandal and in particular of the spy software aspect, such as the one with which some tried to ensnare Nikos Androulakis,” as the party’s announcement typically states.
The statement notes that “the extent of the web of surveillance that has grown is truly chilling. The admission that the state’s electronic vaccination application has been eroded is troubling.”
It is also noted that “those of the owners of the 92 numbers, who received an SMS and were officially informed by the Authority, hold public positions of responsibility must inform the Greek people and the Parliament’s Institutions and Transparency Committee, which in turn must immediately call the Personal Data Protection Authority for information on the important data that emerges. The evidence is now also in the hands of the Justice, which must also act.”
But, as emphasized in the announcement, “the investigation is ongoing. Any intervention in the framework of the operation of the Independent Authority, as well as the Anti-Terrorism Commission, which are investigating the wiretapping scandal, cannot be accepted, especially at this stage.”
