The vouchers of 200 euros for each teacher will be given by the Fund for Recovery and Resilience, while a relevant legislative regulation is being prepared for the Parliament.

How vouchers will be distributed to the beneficiaries

The announcement of the Ministry of Education states that the teachers and the members of Special Educational Staff-Special Auxiliary Staff, who are employed in structures of primary and secondary education, will be the new beneficiaries of the program “Digital Care II”, according to current legislation. the ministry in the bill of the ministry of Development and Investments.

Following the proposal of the Minister of Education, Nikis Kerameos, vouchers worth 200 euros will be made available to the beneficiaries for the purchase of technological equipment, without social or other criteria, in order to strengthen the educational staff of our country in the new, digital age, of wider investment in the digital transformation of education.

The € 141 million “Digital Welfare” program, funded by the Recovery and Sustainability Fund, is the result of co-operation between the Ministries of Finance, Development and Investment, Education and Religion, Labor and Social Affairs and Digital Governance.

Another regulation of this amendment stipulates that, for admission to higher education this year for the academic year 2022-2023, only the first phase computerized form will be submitted, as last year. This provision was deemed necessary for two main reasons, both of which arose from the first application of the Minimum Admission Base: on the one hand, because 93% of those admitted to higher education, thanks to the EBE, succeeded in being admitted to a School or Department among their first 10 choices, therefore the random admission to low priority for the candidate Schools or Departments was drastically limited. On the other hand, in order to have a sufficient period of time for the implementation of the system for determining the weights by the Higher Education Institutions, so that conclusions can be drawn for the candidates, in view of their selection.

“Our priority is to support our teaching staff”

In addition, the provisions of the Ministry of Education, among others, stipulate the deadline for the issuance of Guidelines for Financing and Management of Special Accounts for Research Funds of Higher Education Institutions until June 30, 2022, while regulating issues of program planning agreements with Higher Education Institutions Education and Religions, as well as for the certification process of the study programs provided by departments or schools.

Minister Niki Kerameos stressed that “our priority is to support our teaching staff, as well as the digital transformation of education. With the Digital Care II program, we seek, together with the training of teachers in the field of new technologies, to further support in the new digital age the work of our human resources, which is our most important asset. We train, equip, develop, support. We are taking another step towards the school that our children and our teachers deserve.
