With the father of Michalis, the 29-year-old friend of AEK who was murdered in New Philadelphia the Minister of Citizen Protection contacted by phone, Giannis Oikonomou.

Mr. Economou expressed his condolences for the death of the 29-year-old as well as the condolences of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

At the same time, he assured that the State will do everything to bring the murderer’s perpetrators to justice and that the goal is to don’t be another victim of fan violence.

A total of 15 to 20 ELAS officers will be examined

In total 15 to 20 ELAS officersfrom the entire range of Directorates, from Kakavia to Attica (Epirus, Western Greece, Attica), and the involved services are expected to be examined for the bloody episodes of New Philadelphia which led to death of the 29-year-old Michalis Katsouri sources from the Ministry of Citizen Protection said.

As requested by the political leadership of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, it started, and continues apace, conducting an internal investigation to fully verify the events, from the entry of the foreign fans into Greece and afterwards, in order to identify and assign the appropriate responsibilities, at any level and in any form.

In addition to the reports of the Officers, in the context of the E.D.E., affidavits will be taken from persons that can possibly help in the investigation of the case, it is emphasized by the sources of the ministry.

In new arrests of suspects for the crime which has shocked the Panhellenic community, the police proceeded with Michalis as a victim, while at the same time has launched a manhunt for dozens more suspects.

The number of those arrested rose to 104 for the bloody episodes in New Philadelphia, as well as those who were arrested from the first moment, all five Croats were added who were brought last Tuesday night from Igoumenitsa and one more Their 19-year-old compatriot who was spotted on a bus to Tirana at the Kakkavia border station.

All six were taken to Athens and brought together with the other defendants to the public prosecutor.

In particular, they were brought to the public prosecutor 103 people, namely 97 Croats, two Greeks, one Albanian, one Austrian, one German and one Bosnian, while one more Croat, included in the case file, is still hospitalized under Red Cross guard.
