The upcoming construction of a marina in the city of Varosia is the latest addition to the Turkish plan to turn the city into a tourist resort. Intentions have already been announced for the development of tourist facilities in the enclosed city, while at the same time there are reports that talk about the sale of hotels by Greek Cypriots to Turkish funds.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus issued another statement of condemnation, speaking of the creation of additional acts and they do not contribute to the cultivation of a positive climate. At the same time, the Cypriot government is making representations to the peacekeeping force in Cyprus to prevent such a development based on the relevant Resolutions of the UN Security Council.
