The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias is giving a press conference on the situation in the country due to the multiple fires and the developments on the fronts.

The minister described the situation with the fire in Parnitha as “extremely critical” and emphasized that “Within five minutes, the first aerial vehicles arrived at the fire in Parnitha”.

“We are facing an unprecedented situation, the worst summer ever since meteorological data began to be recorded,” said V. Kikilias.

“Despite the systematic strengthening of civil protection, the result is not what we would like,” the minister emphasized and added that “there is no scope for small-party confrontations. The time for public debate and harsh criticism and self-criticism will soon come.”
