After the end of the national elections, he remains in the spotlight, despite the internal party fire he receives, as he is not even a member of the party.
Stefanos Kasselakis, who participated in the national elections in June on the party’s State ballot, has great chances for a fifth nomination in the succession race for the presidency in SYRIZA.
The American-born self-made shipping entrepreneur may not confirm or deny the scenarios, but he has set up a political platform where citizens can submit their proposals, and has increased his appearances.
Stefanos Kasselakis was born in 1988 in Athens and left for America at a very young age.
In the national elections he teamed up with Alexis Tsipras, intending to be among the persons who would have a central role in the think tank, however he ended up on the state ballot.
Ten days before the May 21 polls, Stefanos Kasselakis made his first television appearance on SKAI television.
However, the television appearance that would make him particularly popular was his confrontation with ELL LYSIS MP Pavlos Sarakis, defending same-sex couples.
After the end of the national elections, he remains in the spotlight, despite the internal party fire he receives, as he is not even a member of the party.
However, there are not a few SYRIZA executives who are in favor of his possible candidacy.
“Finally, another one with proposals and positions!!”, said Pavlos Polakis in his Facebook post.
On his side is also Elena Akrita, who a few weeks ago proposed to be a candidate for the municipality of Athens, while in her new post, on the occasion of the “complaining” that exists within SYRIZA about Mr. Kasselakis, she wrote:
“Demek leftists are launching homophobic insinuations about Stefanos Kasselakis in a desperate attempt to tarnish the dynamic and key presence of the remarkable young politician in Greek events. Nothing more vulgar. They will find us across the street.”
At the same time, however, the four candidates for the presidency of SYRIZA continue their tours throughout Greece ahead of the elections, with the internal party debate still in the air.
The elections to elect a new leadership in Koumoundourou will be held on Sunday, September 10.
