Greece’s position of principle against any form of revisionism and violation of the rules of International Law was pointed out, among others, by the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, in his intervention during the debate on Ukraine, at today’s informal council of EU Defense Ministers.

Analyzing his intervention, Mr. Dendias wrote about it on his personal twitter account:

“- I emphasized that at the meeting of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the leaders of the Western Balkan countries, organized by our country, strong support for Ukraine was expressed for as long as it takes,

– I also referred to the significant defense assistance provided by Greece to Ukraine, particularly with ammunition and the readiness to contribute to activities of the EU military assistance mission for the training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and

– I highlighted the importance of increasing the aid provided to Ukraine by the European Peace Mechanism, strengthening the European Defense Industry – which is an essential step for EU autonomy – and having an in-depth discussion regarding the EU’s security commitments for Ukraine”.

On the sidelines of the informal session, Mr. Dendias had a conversation with his Cypriot counterpart Michalis Giorgallas.
