In revealing that appeals have been filed with the Electoral Court in specific regions where MPs of the “Spartios” party were elected, the constitutional expert proceeded Konastantinos Botopoulosspeaking on SKAI radio.

He mentioned how “the core of the legal argumentation is the illegality of the particular party’s participation in the elections, and not whether, for better or worse, the Supreme Court allowed it to take part in the elections.”

As Mr. Botopoulos said, “now it turns out that the voters or parliamentarians who made the objection wanted the court to judge whether this participation in terms of constitutional legitimacy serves the free vote of the Greek people, whether it was legal or not, and that will be judged by the court.”

According to Mr. Botopoulos “all these elements add evidential material to this argumentation and after the composition of the supreme special court is completed and the judges are drawn, the trial ones will be set.”

As the constitutional expert pointed out “possibly the consequence if the court judges that there is an illegality is the disqualification of all Spartan MPs”.

Referring to the financing of the Spastiates party, he noted that it goes to the party and the party’s statute has not even appeared.
