On Friday, the Attica regional governor candidate proceeded to delete a candidate from the ballot papers of the PASOK-supported faction “Attiki Independent Self-Government” Giannis Sgouros.
Reason for deletion, Michalis Bella’s homophobic posts against the SYRIZA presidential candidate Stefanou Kasselakis.
As Mr. Sgouros emphasizes in his statement on Facebook, “the candidate regional councilor, Mr. Michalis Bellas, with his unacceptable and provocative public posts, put himself outside of our faction, from which he is immediately deleted. Such homophobic and vulgar statements, wherever they come from, cannot be accepted except to be unequivocally condemned.” PS: Our faction has a creative history of 20 years in self-government. He has always acted with principles and values, with respect for the institutions and the rights of citizens which he defends every day. Therefore, we do not accept suggestions from anyone…”
