Last year we reduced the municipal fees by 5% and this year we will do the same again, said the mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, speaking to SKAI.

He explained that this is happening because serious work has been done in the municipality with projects, such as the lights that we are changing all over the city and installing LEDs, as he said, gaining three things: more and better light, saving resources and automation.

He added that the remaining money is returned to the citizens.

The mayor of Athens noted that for him the priority is the neighborhood, to work day by day, neighborhood by neighborhood, because Athens is its neighborhoods.

He added that the most important things are the small things, such as cleanliness, lights, parks, greenery, playgrounds, playgrounds.

He even added that “when we started we had a budget of 640 million euros, today we have a budget of 1.150 billion euros, Moody’s checked us three times and congratulated us on our management and solvency”.

In fact, he emphasized that today dozens of projects are included in the NSRP, while he pointed out the importance he attaches to the effects of the climate crisis in the city, saying that from the materials for the sidewalks, the water and the trees, everything is at the center of this phenomenon.

“I’m interested in leaving behind a real footprint, a tangible and measurable result, I don’t do everything perfectly, only those who don’t work don’t make mistakes. I am correcting and staying true to my goal” concluded Kostas Bakoyannis.
