“All interventions are aimed at increasing the income of all citizens,” the government spokesman added
“The first bill passed by the Mitsotakis government is the application of 50% of the pre-election program to the economy,” the government representative told SKAI and the program “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias Pavlos Marinakis.
“Civil servants will see an average net increase of 1400 euros”
“All the interventions, which will begin to be implemented from 1-1-2024, concern an indirect or direct increase in the income of all citizens. After 14 years, civil servants will see increases in their salaries. Essentially, civil servants will see an average net increase of 1,400 euros,” he added.
On the occasion of the labor bill, Mr. Marinakis underlined that “two of the first bills are at the core of dealing with and respecting workers. They are promoting reforms that some could not even fathom and that the labor market has needed for decades. They fight undeclared work, protect workers who do not have a specific schedule. It’s better to judge policies, not by the labels that some are used to, but by what a government implements.”
On pension increases, the government spokesman pointed out that “for those who will not see an increase, the personal difference allowance will be given. One of the unacceptable arrangements of the previous government – which before the election tried to deceive pensioners – an indirect pension reduction”
“As the Prime Minister promised last year and put it into practice, until the personal difference disappears, these people, in the measure of increases and fiscal data, will be supported,” he added.
“All interventions aim to indirectly or directly increase the income of all citizens”
On the occasion of the “Shelter” program, the market pass and the youth pass, Mr. Marinakis emphasized: “All these interventions are very important because they supported citizens in difficult, very big crises. For me, the most important interventions are the permanent interventions, such as the financial bill that was passed and all the others that we will see implemented. Why, these measures remain when the crises go away. The time has come, point by point, to restore the injustices. All interventions aim to indirectly or directly increase the income of all citizens”.
“Unjustified profits will not be tolerated”
In fact, Mr. Marinakis noted that “the treatment of accuracy moves on three levels. The permanent measures, wage increases, pension increases, without burdening the next generations. Without any tax increase. The second is the emergency measures that supported the citizens and kept the economy afloat. The third is the control of the market by the competent authorities. Unjustified profits will not be tolerated.”
“Some people, whether it’s food or gasoline, can’t take advantage of an imported crisis. The best way to deal with an imported inflationary crisis is to raise wages and pensions and enforce the law,” the government spokesman added.
When asked about the issue of Stefanos Kasselakis, Mr. Marinakis said: “I make one wish, that our country finally acquires a serious opposition, as less toxic as possible. If we can’t get this, we can get loan advice. As a freelancer since 2013 I tried to get a loan to buy a car with installments and I had to put my father as guarantor. I didn’t even think about taking a tanker.”
Regarding the upcoming meeting between K. Mitsotakis and T. Erdogan in New York, the government representative emphasized that “Greece approaches every such meeting with confidence. Every move is evaluated day by day. We seek dialogue without any inclination to compromise our national interests. We are talking about a particularly different geopolitical environment. Greece is now a leading country and will continue to lead at all levels”.
