“We strongly condemn the action of unknown persons who broke the tombstones in the cemetery of the Turkish minority in Narlıköy (Polyanthos), which is located in western Thrace. We expect the perpetrators to be arrested and brought to justice as soon as possible, to be sentenced to the punishment they deserve and for the Greek authorities to clarify the reasons behind the incident.

We convey our best wishes to our compatriots living in Polyanthos and share their grief.

We call on our neighbor Greece to take the necessary measures in this direction, to prevent similar actions in the future and to ensure the peace and security of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace.”

Turkish analysts challenge “In the Aegean there are islands whose sovereignty is disputed”

At the same time, fuel is added to the fire in Greek-Turkish relations on the eve of the Gerapetritis-Fidan visit with the statements of Turkish analysts who, speaking to CNN Turk, bring back the issue of territorial waters in the Aegean.

According to Manolis Kostidis, the two analysts comment that “in the Aegean there are islands whose sovereignty is disputed” while at the same time pointing out that “Greece is expanding its territorial waters even by one point” pointing out that “this is a cause of war”.

In fact, they state that “the USA works in favor of Greece”.

“At the essence of the Greek-Turkish disputes there is a question of sovereignty. There are the islands of disputed sovereignty, which belong to us. according to our own legal position and opinion and the historical documents. In these Greece has the claim of its own sovereignty. Here we are talking about 120 islands and islets. We know what will happen in the Aegean if Greece extends its territorial waters beyond 6 miles” commented Çagri Erhan, rector of Altinba University.

When the reporter asks him if “could such a thing happen ie they extend the territorial waters to 12 miles?” Mr. Chagri Erhan replies: “Careful we are not talking about 12 miles. Let’s fix it. The decision of the Turkish Parliament, the decision to declare war does not talk about extending territorial waters to 12 miles. If Greece expands its territorial waters by even one point, this is a cause of war for us.”

From the side of Professor of Aydin University, Ragip Kutai Karaca stated: “We must say that the US has focused its attention on Greece in relation to the balance between Greece and Turkey. As in issues of blocking the F-35 but also in the non-sale of the F-16.”

Erdogan: The Turkish army is the last army of Islam

The Technology Festival was attended by the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who repeated in his speech “that the Turkish is the last army of Islam” in an attempt to send similar messages mainly to smaller countries that Turkey is trying to dominate.

“My brothers do not worry at all. This country is neither an unripe vineyard, nor a place of accommodation for ruffians, nor is it an orphan country that someone will dare to conquer. That is why it is not possible not to praise Yahya Kemal. Oh my God, this storm is the Turkish army. O God this is the army that is dying for you, so that your fame may be heard with the prayers in the minarets, bring us victory, as this is the last army of Islam. This is how we stand out from others who are colonialists, tyrants and drown the world in blood and pain. We are big, strong and different” Erdogan said characteristically.
