Immediate resignation of the regional governor of Thessaly, Kostas Agorastos, is requested by the SYRIZA PS, after the “revelations-kolafo” about the breach in the Kalentzis river dam.
In particular, SYRIZA reports that “the journalistic revelations of the last few days confirm that on the night of the great flood, a machine hired by the Region of Thessaly caused a breach in the embankment of the Kalentzis river, so that the waters were directed to Palamas. In fact, the ALPHA TV station broadcast yesterday the testimony of the earth mover, who broke the dam with an excavator, who states that the order for the intervention was given by the Region”.
SYRIZA adds that “these revelations add to and reinforce the residents’ complaints, which are already the subject of the investigation by the Supreme Court’s Prosecutor’s Office”.
The official opposition emphasizes that “after all this, Mr. Agorastos can no longer hide. The least he has to do is to resign today as the Regional Governor of Thessaly”. He notes that “if he does not do it himself, the leader of his party, Mr. Mitsotakis, must ask him to do so”, adding that “otherwise it is certain that Mr. Mitsotakis covers – apart from his own – the criminal ones as well responsibilities of the elected District Governor”.
