The amendment that provides for the unfreezing of the three years from January 1, 2024 will probably be submitted to the Parliament today in order to be voted on on Friday, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Adonis Georgiadis, told SKAI 100.3.

The minister spoke of balanced regulation, which weighs the interests of workers and employers.

He reiterated that there is no question of retroactivity in the application of the three years.

Asked about it, he said that the average salary in Greece is 1,090 euros.

“The salary has gone up in Greece due to the growth of the Greek economy and the attraction of investments that increase the demand in the labor market,” stressed Mr. Georgiadis.

Speaking afterwards on SKAI TV, he emphasized that the unfreezing comes 2 years earlier with the aim of private sector workers seeing faster increases in the basic salary and everything related to the basic salary.

He clarified that we are not talking about individual contracts, but about sectoral active contracts.

Regarding the strike that has been announced for Thursday, he said that “I don’t believe that there will be any shocking strike”.

Mr. Georgiadis emphasized that with what has been happening lately, it is normal for there to be distress in the world and this distress will also be reflected in polls. But this is half the picture, the other half is the very good course of the economy, he stressed.

For Stefanos Kasselakis said that “we capitalists, I mean Kasselakis as well, have a concept in capitalism, the aggressive takeover. That is, some sharks make an aggressive acquisition and the old investors are left alone. Such an aggressive takeover also took place in SYRIZA”.

He added that we should not underestimate any opponent, and that any opponent can prove dangerous. “Whether he will prove to be dangerous is another matter,” he added.

Finally he said: “I admit that Polakis was a huge success in SYRIZA, he comes out on top. We will see if Mr. Kasselakis is associated with polarization.”
