“The phrase ‘I’m changing everything’ obviously cannot apply to a party that has a history. Changes must be made because the world’s need is such,” said SYRIZA MP Rania Thraskia on Tuesday morning speaking on SKAI’s “Mismatched” show, about the election of Stefanos Kasselakis to the leadership of SYRIZA.

“People chose a man because they believed in him. He believed that he would unite not only the left, but also the entire progressive space that has not been sufficiently expressed and this was seen in the previous elections, because it is a commonplace that 41% of the New Democracy does not consist of its exclusive followers and supporters”, he commented.

“The world needs a new voice”

Regarding the people who went to vote in the internal party elections of SYRIZA, she said: “The gladiators who reached the end of the electoral process managed to get the people to vote to show their need for a new voice.”

Regarding the different views of the SYRIZA MPs, Mrs. Thraskia commented that “The conference, under the new president, gives us the opportunity to express what everyone believes and advocates, as always happens in SYRIZA”.

“Obviously there will be different opinions, but that’s politics. There must be a new party, center-left if you want, but based on the struggles of the Left.”
