At 60%-61% the fullness of the appointments for the new IDs – Doubling the available appointments in Athens, Thessaloniki and prefecture capitals
“In the first week, we had 13,500 arrivals through the platform and also with emergency appointments that serve the police departments. In 367 locations with 460 jobs throughout the country. We started having 50,000 appointments a week. At the moment we have 60% – 61% occupancy of the appointments”, Minister of Citizen Protection Yiannis Oikonomou told SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias on the occasion of the issuance of the new identity cards.
“We are opening the platform for appointments until 12/31, an additional 50,000 appointments available. Considering that there is a great demand, we will double the available appointments in Athens, Thessaloniki and prefecture capitals for October and November. Also, 60 mobile crews will issue IDs to our fellow citizens who cannot move. We are progressing smoothly, with the big goal of replacing all the identities of the Greek population in 2.5-3 years from now. We want to make a process for citizens simple, hassle-free and they will get a secure identity card,” he added.
Regarding SYRIZA and the election of Stefanos Kasselakis, Mr. Oikonomou said: “In their attempt in SYRIZA to balance the policy deficit with an excess of spectacle, they exceed every limit. They become more and more insulting, arrogant. It is sad that a man who enters the political scene, instead of taking care to learn better basic political and institutional issues of the functioning of the Greek state, appears with this arrogance, with this insulting tone for elected representatives of the Greek people. Instead of trying to fill it with substance, insist on being an empty white shirt.”
“It is detrimental to the Republic that there is no opposition that stands with seriousness and responsibility as required by its role towards Greek society,” he added.
