“As trust towards the government which is tested daily,” interpreted the government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis the result of the ballot box on the first Sunday of the Local Government elections, speaking on the show “Today” on SKAI.

The government representative emphasized that the choice of persons counted in favor of the ND, citing as an example the candidacy of N. Hardalia in the Region of Attica who raised the percentage of the ND from 43% which was in the national elections to 46% in the self-governing ones.

The expectations for the second round, as he said, the other candidates supported by the ruling party should also be elected, adding that he also counted positively the fact that the prime minister himself did not remember the municipalities only in the run-up to the elections. “The prime minister did not stay in government duties, he visited municipalities and had contact with the people” he said and added “The comparison with the opposition is that he has a denial of reality.”

With reference to Mr. Beu’s attack, he emphasized that his words “will be checked by justice” and are “reprehensible and dirty”, adding that he will stand by “Mr. Kasselakis and every Kasselakis” when they accept such type of attacks.
