“The main goal of our government remains high-quality growth that will far exceed the European average,” said the prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the start of the discussion with the president of the BSE Dimitris Papalexopoulosat the open event of the General Assembly of the BSE.

Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that wages should increase as unemployment falls and noted that “our goal of an average wage of 1,500 euros at the end of the four years is achievable.”

“Growth does not only have purely fiscal characteristics, which are determined by official statistics, as they arise from the ELSTAT and the European Commission, it must be a development that creates quality jobs, a development that leads to the convergence of Greek salaries with European ones, a development that will place great emphasis on the concept of sustainability and the green transition. To this must be added now and with greater emphasis the concept of resilience in the face of its challenges climate change and also the development cannot ignore the colossal changes in the world of artificial intelligence, the next phase of the digital upgrade which changes everything in how we perceive our relationship with technology” he said.

“And of course a development which must have essentially practical characteristics of social justice, so that social inequalities do not widen, but decrease based on all the indicators we use to measure this problem that all developed countries face” said the Prime Ministernoting that this will be done without making the mistakes of the past.

Referring to the issue of energy he said that we need more solar and wind farms underlining that these alone are not enough if we do not address the issue of energy storage.

“The country can become an energy exporter within the next five years,” the prime minister stressed.

Referring to the issue of the labor force of companies, after underlining that unemployment is escalating at a rapid rate, he particularly focused on inclusion policies.

Regarding the functioning of the state, the prime minister stated that the fact that the salaries of civil servants are increasing not horizontally and in combination with the evaluation is a big cut in the public sector.

“We have a lot of work to do in justice, it is a central reform arm for the next four years” noted the prime minister.
