A training workshop was successfully held, with the aim of fully consolidating and implementing correct and effective legal and technical practices. Participants in the workshop, live and via video conference, a total of 240 executives from the wider public sector. The goal is to complete the training process for the first 129 staff members by the end of the year, in order to make them available to the Ministries.

“You are the institutional neurotransmitters that will serve the best transfer of know-how to and from public bodies and central administration. With your catalytic contribution, we are building a more efficient, more functional, fairer state for all”, the Minister of State, Mr. Stavros Papastavrou.

It is pointed out that in the framework of the institutional reform implemented by the Presidency of the Government, the training of staff members – selected by the Public Administration – for the staffing of Ministries is included, for the first time. The universal application of good law-making practices is one of the Government’s fixed priorities, as was highlighted during the recent Council of Ministers.

More than 250 staff in total will participate in the training process, and they will receive specialized knowledge as legal experts, public policy analysts or digital policy analysts. Some of them will become – within the guidelines of the program – trainers of trainers. A series of educational activities have been designed for their training.

The person responsible for the legislative project, the Minister of State, emphasized that “good legislation is a necessary condition for reforms, that is, changes in the functioning of the state, and changes can only be effective if they come from good legislation”.

“The multi-faceted modernization of the country, which is the central goal of the government, is implemented through a series of reforms. So you realize how important your role is, given that only with good legislation can the coherence and single direction of government initiatives be ensured”, he concluded.
