The first meeting of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the president of SYRIZA-PS Stefanos Kasselakis, in his office in the Parliament, lasted almost an hour.
According to the announcement from the prime minister’s office, Mr. Mitsotakis informed Mr. Kasselakis about the country’s positions on the developments in the Middle East, on the discussions at the level of the European Council, on the course of the Greek economy and on the prospects after the upgrading the country’s creditworthiness as well as for the government’s reform initiatives.
Mr. Mitsotakis stated that he is always at the disposal of Mr. Kasselakis, as well as the other political leaders, for their information.

The prime minister asked Mr. Kasselakis if he has adapted to the new premiseswith the president of SYRIZA answering: “In the Parliament not yet, but one day I fully wish. In the party environment for sure. And in GREECE. We have a responsibility to bring the expatriate Greeks back, it is a national responsibility and a national bet”.
The prime minister replied that the government has made a good start with the bill which enables expatriates to vote from their permanent place of residence, with Mr. Kasselakis replying that the specific bill gives the right to vote and not to be elected.
The prime minister replied that “we will discuss this” and added that the Constitution recognizes all Greek citizens the right to be elected.
