The Greek humanitarian aid intended for the civilians of the Gaza Strip arrived today Monday on a C-130 aircraft at El Arish airport in Egypt, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs ensures, in consultation with the competent Egyptian authorities, for the fastest possible transfer of Greek humanitarian aid to Gaza” is emphasized.

The aid load collected by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health and which includes pharmaceutical and medical material, the Ambassador of Greece in Cairo, Nikos Papageorgiou, was welcomed at the El Arish military airport.

In the meantime, consultations and efforts to open are continuing humanitarian corridor by sea as soon as possible. This is an initiative of Greece, Cyprus, France in coordination with international organizations and especially the UN, but also with Israel.

It is recalled that for our country the protection of civilians and the opening of corridors of solidarity for the transfer of beneficial and effective aid to civilians is an important and top priority.
